Treating Acne Is Not As Tricky As It Seems

By Don

You may have found that your acne has caused you to feel depressed and unsure of yourself. It is time to remove the control that acne has on your quality of life. In this article, you will find some helpful tips to clear up your skin and make it look great. Use this information to devise your own daily skin care regimen, and clear up acne for good.

One way to avoid acne breakouts is to sleep on a fresh pillowcase each night. Just think about it! Also, imagine yourself rolling and turning onto this every night. Try to avoid this by cleaning your cases for pillows often and employing a fresh pillowcase each night.

Limiting the meats and dairy you eat can reduce acne. Meat and dairy products are full of hormones that will negatively impact your skin, so it’s a good idea to cut down or eliminate these products from your diet.

If you typically wear makeup, avoid wearing it for a few days. You can also treat acne by switching to a foundation that is water-based. While you may want to apply makeup to hide your acne, you should understand that it can clog your pores. Your skin will stay cleaner and clearer if you avoid these products.

Drinks, such as soft drinks, coffee and tea may contain caffeine that can aggravate acne and make it worse. By cutting down your caffeine intake, you should be able to reduce breakouts.

Getting some sun may temporarily help to clear up an acne breakout. Your skin will dry up once the sun hits it. You may notice that the acne gets worse at first, because the oils will go to the outer layers of the skin. This will clear up after a few weeks and you should not experience breakouts as much.

Be sure that you are not mixing acne treatments. Many people panic and use many different products at once hoping something will work. The combination of different, harsh ingredients may end up damaging your skin instead of benefiting it.

If you change your pillowcases and sheets often, you will avoid acne. When you sleep these oils transfer to your sheets and pillow cases. They then find their way back to your skin. Keep your bed linens freshly laundered to help reduce this oily transfer.

Zinc is great for fighting acne, as it reduces free radicals beneath your skin. If you have cystic acne and want to reduce the bumps on your face, try taking a zinc supplement once a day to destroy your acne from the inside out.

Did you ever think that talking on a cell phone could cause an acne breakout? Cellular phones get the oil from your face and hair and deposit it back at your face. Clean your phone with rubbing alcohol to keep it oil-free. When using your cell phone, hold it a few inches from your face.

Use products that contain salicylic acid to treat acne. Any skin care product that contains salicylic acid (otherwise known as beta hydroxy acid), causes the skin to shed its cells more quickly.

You can use the tips that are right for your particular skin and see results now. The tools to fight acne are now in your hands. Your self esteem will grow alongside your improved skin.
