By Don

Acne can occur on just about any place of the body. Acne is not secluded to only the face. No matter where it occurs, there are ways to control it. Many people have treated acne successfully. You can too by following these tips.

Picking at your blemishes will result in spread of the bacteria, and new lesions will emerge. Scratching or breaking open a pimple can cause it to become infected, creating more breakouts. It can also cause nasty scabs and scars that are harder to cover up than the zit is itself.

Try to use a fresh pillowcase each night. Consider it! You toss and turn frequently in your sleep, as well. To prevent acne by rubbing against this dirt every night, use clean pillowcases at all costs.

Another great way to help reduce the occurrence of acne, would be to decrease meats and dairy from your diet. The hormones in meat and dairy products can affect your skin, causing increased acne breakouts.

Be cautious about extreme changes in weather, because they can make acne worse. You’ll more than likely be sweating a lot more when the weather gets hot. Your pores can get clogged when you sweat. This can cause acne. Your skin may get dry when the weather is cold. Neither of the two is desirable.

A herbal remedy for acne are the herbs that make chamomile tea. Your cooled tea bag can be used to reduce redness and decrease swelling. Just put it on the affected area and keep it there for about ten minutes.

If it’s possible, swim just as much as you can. Swimming gives your body a good workout and calms you down, relieving any stress that may cause acne. Also, chlorine can be very soothing for your body and may reduce the bumps that you get from acne.

Did you consider the fact that talking on mobile phones can cause acne flareups? Cell phones can transfer oil from your hair to your face. Clean your phone with rubbing alcohol to keep it oil-free. It’s also helpful to avoid letting your skin touch the phone when using it.

One would avoid touching one’s face or popping existing pimples to minimize acne outbreaks. When you touch your face, you rub more oils onto it. The less you touch, the less oily your face will be. Squeezing pimples also increases the risk that the area will become infected or irritated.

Look for acne treatments that contain salicylic acid. This major ingredient combined with hydroxyl acids help the skin shed dead cells quicker.

During times of heavy perspiration due to exercise or high temperatures, it’s especially important to keep your face clean. If you can’t clean your face when you’re not at home, try to take a set of wipes along with you. This way you can remove impurities and bacteria from your face. Avoid using wipes in place of your cleanser.

Do you feel like acne will always be a skin issue you have to deal with? There are a lot of skin issues triggered by allergies and mites. Finally, try to minimize the stress in your life. Stress causes the body to produce more hormones than usual. Hormones can cause skin problems.

Eliminate the use of oil-based makeups. When you use a heavy oil-based makeup, you can be causing your pores to become clogged. Water soluble make-up is better for the skin than oil-based products. Some products advertised as oil-free may be untruthful in their claims. Products such as this will often contain synthetics that cause breakouts.

If you suffer from acne, refrain from touching the pimples. Your fingers can spread infection by transferring oil and dirt to your skin. Be conscious of touching your face unintentionaly and try to avoid it. If you read a lot, then you may be in the habit of resting your chin in your hand. This can result in an acne flareup.

If you have troublesome acne, do not try to get a tan, either outside or in a sunbed. Direct exposure to sunlight or to a tanning light will worsen your acne. UV light from tanning beds has the same effect on acne as the radiation from the sun does. Tanning is a bad thing to do when you are going through acne trouble.

A healthy water intake can be useful in the fight against acne. Try to consume around 64 ounces of water each day. Becoming dehydrated is problematic for your skin and other parts of your body. When you are dehydrated, your skin cannot shed the dead cells in order to make way for the fresher layers of skin. This lack of shedding can cause acne to worsen. Acne problems intensify when this occurs.

Acne can be found on places other than the face. Use the tips in this article to treat your acne properly, no matter where it is. Acne can be treated, and with continued treatment, it can eventually fade away.
